General Description
Many industrial cities in our country have a large amount of wastewater which has resulted in serious urban surface water pollution . The Environmental Monitoring Centers in every city shoulder the monitoring responsibilities for the urban environmental water quality and pollution sources of surface water, and many cities have established a wastewater monitoring network linking the city station as the net head and the district and the industry stations together.
The wastewater on-line monitoring system has been built to improve the capacity of water quality monitoring. A subsidiary sewage discharge monitoring stations, monitoring center and management center (urban Environmental Protection Agency) compose the municipal wastewater monitoring network system . This system can sample the industrial wastewater and urban sewage automatically, monitor the flow and the main pollution factors on line;it also can keep track of the discharge status and the total volum of pollutants discharge from the enterprise and the city and then transmit the monitoring data automatically in real time. Then the computer control center in Monitoring Central collects ,collates and analyzes these data comprehensively. And these Monitor messages will be sent to the City Environmental Protection Agency for supervision.

1、subsidary monitoring station
In each outfall there is a subsidary monitoring station with an experiment table. And online flow meters, automatic water quality sampler, pollutants on-line monitoring instrument and computer control systems are installed.
The computer system in this substation can complete the collection of the output signal from the detecting instrument, and conduct data processing, storage, display, record, counting, printing and so on.
It can satisfy the requirements for monitoring data from all the sewage outfall and transmit the data in real time through the wireless communication systems and computer control center.
2、Monitoring Central Station
There is a central laboratory, a wireless receiver system and a computer control center established in the Urban Environmental Monitoring Central Station.
Computer control center receives information from the monitoring stations and the other sources of pollution; then it deals with classification, screening and comprehensive analysis of the monitoring information and finish the data statistics,computing and processing to genetate various reports automatically; also it has various functions including storage , display , record, printing, counting and so on. What’s more,this system is networked to the Urban Environmental Protection Information Center.
A large-screen projection system is set up to show the distribution of the key pollution sources and the monitoring results in the city and to demonstrate environmental quality status by computer multimedia audio system.
3、Management Center
Relevant departments of the urban Environmental Protection Agency compose the management center which is the decision-making center of this system. It is mainly to analyze and research the monitoring information from the monitoring central station and make management desicisons in time to strengthen the management..
