[General description]
The process of highway information has speed up since it came to the eighties.From the network's popularity to the application of computer hardware and software systems,from the construction of various database to the improvement of the management system, from the development of the advanced road management system to the establishment of the travelling information service system, highway is no longer a simple infrastructure, but a body linking the vehicles ,drivers and customers by information technology.

And the Transport highway toll system is one of the four Mechanical and Electrical Engineerings.
Not only is it the core in the applications of the domestic highway electrical and mechanical works, but also it is the most effectiveness and sophisticated system .
[System requirement]
Highway toll system has to operate stably and uninterruptedly outdoors in the high-temperature, cold, humid, electromagnetic, dusty, vibrated and other complex environment. However, business PC is obviously difficult to adapt to such conditions. Therfore, industrial control computer system to be choosen only for system control to ensure the effective implementation of its own bill system charges and monitoring capabilities. Through the international bidding a company in the United States has the right to construct the charging system, monitoring (security) system, power supply lighting system and communication systems for a highway in north china. The charging system is designed to charge open. The entire charging system is divided into three grade Computer Management System, that is, the Toll Center( whise Management Office is located in the toll building ), Toll stations and Toll lanes. The Toll Center communicates with the toll stations and the computers in the stations and trasmit data through the optical fiber communication systems.

[System Principle]
Seeing from the system schematic diagram: the entire Charging System mainly consists of three parts-----the Toll Center management system, Toll stations and Toll Lanes system. Although we introduce the entire charging system as three parts, the three is an organic whole in fact. The Toll Center controls the entire system; Toll stations aggregate data from the Toll lanes and transmit the data between the Toll Center and Toll Lanes. Toll Lanes correctly charge the passing vehicles in accordance with the requirements of the Toll center, and upload charging data and traffic data. These Three combined with each other form a integrated charging system.
